Ready to help the family of the deceased journalist?
Oleg Yakunin - journalist, sergeant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He died on March 18, 2022, during a military clash with Russian invaders in the Volnovakha district of the Donetsk region. Colleagues say that a fragment of an enemy mine killed him.
The aggressor seeks to wipe out any evidence of his crimes from the face of the earth. Therefore, they kill all possible witnesses - military, civilians and journalists.
If Oleg Yakunin had not died from a fragment of an enemy mine, as a journalist, he would have told the world about the battles near Volnovakha from the first days of the Russian invasion.
Just 4 days after the start of a full-scale attack on Ukraine, 22,000 populated Volnovakha turned into a ghost town and found itself on the verge of a humanitarian crisis.
He would have told the world that people who miraculously escaped from hell in the East of Ukraine have nowhere else to return.
The killings and shootings of journalists are a gross violation of international law. The enemy can turn a blind eye to laws, but he cannot close the eyes of the world to crimes. After all, honouring the memory of those who died for the truth, we will continue to tell their immortal stories.
